This Article will show you how to use leather tooling stamps to creat pattern after cutting lines with swivel knife.
There will be 4 simple steps to complete the pattern.
Use beveler B200 to carve the border.
You will use beveler the MOST when you are leather carving.
WET THE LEATHER with Spray bottle or sponge.
Hold the flat side of the beveler against the line cut with swivel knife.
Tap with a hammer to make impression.
You should be left with series of impression like this.
Continue to complete both sides of the border all the way around.
Use F910 for this part.
Hold the point of the triangle stamp towards each X.
Tilt the stamp like shown in the photo when you are hammering.
Work on one side of each X.
Then Work on all other sides.
If the leather gets dry and feels harder to stamp at anytime, you can add more moisture.
Do not over wet as it will cause creasing when you make impressions.
Adding decoration to the border. This blends the border and the diamond pattern more naturally.
Use Veiner V463 to decorate border.
Hold inside of the curve aginst inner side of the border.
Continue all the way around.
Adding the final touch to the decoration pattern.
Finish the carving pattern with SEEDER S705.
Hold the seeder where shown in tho photo.
